Much of what is pow\u00ader\u00adful in art springs from the same deep sources as dreams, but with the added com\u00adplex\u00adi\u00adty of trans\u00admit\u00adting those insights and feel\u00adings into a skill\u00adful\u00adly craft\u00aded phys\u00adi\u00adcal object or per\u00adformed man\u00adi\u00adfes\u00adta\u00adtion. My own inter\u00adest in psy\u00adchol\u00ado\u00adgy actu\u00adal\u00adly had its incep\u00adtion in first a curios\u00adi\u00adty, and lat\u00ader a pas\u00adsion, about the mean\u00ading and func\u00adtion of artis\u00adtic expres\u00adsion. That dri\u00adve lived not only in my own work as an artist, but also in my sub\u00adse\u00adquent work as a cura\u00adtor, exhi\u00adbi\u00adtion design\u00ader, and pho\u00adtog\u00adra\u00adphy book editor\/publisher. It came into per\u00adhaps its fullest flower through my years of lead\u00ading inter\u00addis\u00adci\u00adpli\u00adnary cre\u00adative process groups. All of which honed my capac\u00adi\u00adty for empa\u00adthet\u00adic con\u00adnec\u00adtion with cre\u00adators, and my sen\u00adsi\u00adtiv\u00adi\u00adty to the metaphor\u00adic \/ sym\u00adbol\u00adic \/ aes\u00adthet\u00adic aspects of their creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In work\u00ading with artists, they them\u00adselves deter\u00admine to what extent the focus is cre\u00adative devel\u00adop\u00adment, psy\u00adcho\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal insight, or some com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtion of the two. Fur\u00adther, the work can be explorato\u00adry, or focused on a par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar issue (i.e., mov\u00ading through a cre\u00adative block, unpack\u00ading the mean\u00ading of a repeat\u00ading motif, or open\u00ading to new ways to per\u00adceive and present a body of work).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My involve\u00adment can be long or short term and can be sched\u00aduled to coin\u00adcide with cycles of cre\u00adative pro\u00adduc\u00adtion rather than the con\u00adven\u00adtion\u00adal cal\u00aden\u00addar.
